My boyfriend said he is too proud to be seen with me in public, Should I leave him?

Recently my boyfriend said that he is fed of me always slouching and that i always look mad and never smile. 

told him I am aware of this and it’s because i have issues to deal with. Then he said something that really hurt me, he said “I would never want to be seen with you in public because I am too proud and like to show off my women” 

Now i understand why we are always at his place or mine and never go out together. I can’t believe that he told me that.

 I want to know what I should tell him and what I should do. 

Would you stay with him and forget about his hurtful words?
