Nigerian man sta*bed to death by his South African wife

Nigerian man, Tony Rholand  (pictured above with wife and kid) was stabbed to death by his South African wife, Lungi, at their home in Willims town, Cape Town, South Africa on Tuesday January 1st.

The couple, who have a kid together, got into an argument in the early hours of January 1st and before anyone could stop it, Lungi stabbed Tony severally in the stomach. Tony died in the hospital a few hours later. Lungi has been arrested.

Unbelievable: Woman Beats Boyfriend To Death Over Phone-Call

A woman has been arrested by the police after she brutally killed her boyfriend by hitting him with an empty beer bottle on the forehead several times.

30-year-old Winnet turned violent, accusing her late boyfriend, Simon (33) of infidelity after the deceased had received a phone call. The infuriated Winner was eager to know the identity of the caller but her boyfriend failed to answer her. This resulted in the bottle assault.

Police confirmed the murder which happened on December 22 at a bottle store in Chikanga.

Police spokesman said: “The couple was drinking beer at around 7.30 pm when Simon received a phone call from an unknown person. Winnet quizzed him over who had called but Simon could not give a satisfactory answer. A quarrel ensued and the accused picked an empty beer bottle and hit him several times on the forehead. She went on to assault him. He was ferried to Mutare General Hospital, Zimbabwe where he was admitted after he had lost a lot of blood.”

He was later released on December 26 after his health condition improved. However, the following day he started complaining of a headache.

“His condition deteriorated and he died on December 30. Winnet was arrested and is assisting police with investigations.”

“We urge couples to solve disputes amicably. The couple should have easily talked this issue over rather than resorting to fighting. We also advice partners not to be jealous since it may result into something nasty if not properly handled,” the police spokesman said.

Man brutally Beats Mother-In-Law For Teaching His Wife Prostitution

A Zimbabwe man has been arraigned before the court of law for ruthlessly thumping his mother-in-law accusing her of teaching his wife prostitution.

Steven Tshuma beat up his mother-in-law, only identified as Gogo Simangaphi (74). The incident took place on 20 November. State prosecutor, Maxwell Hapanyengwi, told the court that on the day in question, the accused went to Simangaphi’s homestead and accused her of teaching his wife prostitution. 

When he got to the homestead, the son-in-law entered into his mother-in-law’s bedroom hut and dragged her by the hand. Tshuma is said to have pushed the elderly woman out of the hut before descending on her several times with a lof.

 As a result of the beating, Gogo Simangaphi sustained serious injuries. Having completed ‘dealing’ with her, Tshuma proceeded to his grandmother, Sonny Tshuma’s homestead, where he demanded to see his wife. He accused his grandmother (84) of hiding his wife in the bedroom. A misunderstanding between gogo Sonny and Tshuma ensued as a result of the accusations. To prove he meant ‘business’, Tshuma whipped his grandmother with a log and the old woman sustained serious injuries too as a result of the assault.

 For his savage behaviour, Tshuma appeared before magistrate Ndumo Masuku where he pleaded guilty to charged that were levelled against him. He was convicted but sentence will be passed on 12 December.

American Football Player K*lls Girlfriend, Then Himself After A Heated Argument

Professional American football team Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Jovan Belcher fatally shot his girlfriend in the early morning hours on Saturday, December 1, then drove to Arrowhead Stadium where he committed suicide in front of his football coach Romeo Crennel and general manager Scott Pioli, say police.

25-year-old Belcher and his girlfriend Kasandra Perkins began arguing at 7AM at a Kansas City residence. At about 7:50AM Belcher opened fire, shooting the 22-year-old victim multiple times. She was taken to an area hospital where she was pronounced dead. He then drove to his football stadium, thanked his coach and manager for all they had done and shot himself.

As facts from the morbid murder/suicide continue to unfold, a source told the Kansas City Star that Belcher and his girlfriend had argued the night before after a Trey Songz concert.

“A friend of the woman killed today by Chiefs linebacker Jovan Belcher said the couple argued in the early morning hours after the woman was out late attending Friday’s Trey Songz concert at The Midland,” the publication reports. “The friend, who asked not to be identified, said Belcher confronted his girlfriend when she returned home about 1AM.” The friend said she “wasn’t aware of any prior physical abuse.”

Belcher’s mother was visiting and at the home at the time of the shooting. She was reportedly watching the couple’s 2-month-old daughter and is being interviewed by police.

Kansas City Chiefs owner Clark Hunt released the following statement on the deaths:

“The entire Chiefs family is deeply saddened by today’s events, and our collective hearts are heavy with sympathy, thoughts and prayers for the families and friends affected by this unthinkable tragedy.

“We sincerely appreciate the expressions of sympathy and support we have received from so many in the Kansas City and NFL communities, and ask for continued prayers for the loved ones of those impacted. We will continue to fully cooperate with the authorities and work to ensure that the appropriate counselling resources are available to all members of the organization.”

My Son Did Not Kill His Wife – Mudashiru Arowolo

Akolade Arowolo who is standing trial at the Ikeja High Court for allegedly stabbing his banker wife Titilayo Omozoje to death last year, opened his defence with his witness, Mudashiru Arowolo telling the court that the deceased only had three wounds on her body.

In his witness, Mudashiru Arowolo who happened to be Kolade’s father said his son had wound on his palm which was a confirmation that he was trying to wrestle a knife from his wife.

He said he was surprised at what he read in the newspaper; the claim of Professor John Obafunwa, Chief Pathologist at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital who testified that the deceased had 76 stab wounds on her body, insisting she only had three.

He said he discovered some 20 wounds on the body of his son.

He also told the court that he knew that his son and the wife had been having quarrels but that Akolade was never violent.

The witness also claimed that he once heard the deceased threaten to kill his son and then herself.

He further said that Omozoje had left the husband’s house since January 2011 and that he was surprised to see the dead body of his daughter-in-law on June 25 in Akolade’s flat, after they had forced the door open.

“My son complained that the marriage was characterised by undue interference from our in-laws, both the father-in-law, Mr. George Oyakhire and the stepmother-In-law, Adetoun Oyakhire.”

“Immediately after the marriage, the couple started buying baby things because Omozoje was pregnant before they got married. My son told us that Onozoje requested for N500,000 and he said he could only afford N100,000. That was one quarrel. Immediately, Omozoje left for her parents’ house.

“Another instance of their quarrel was after she had been delivered of their baby in the hospital. Kolade said the stepmother-In-law had insisted she would keep the placenta. Then a quarrel ensued. But the Medical Director of the hospital gave it Kolade, being the baby’s father.

When told that different prosecution witnesses had said they saw many wounds on the body of the dead banker, the defendant’s father maintained that he only saw three wounds on the left part of her chest.

He however admitted to saying in one of his statements that he did ask why his son could have killed his daughter-in-law.

Under re-examination by his lawyer, Mudashiru said the statement was a mere response to the question of the IPO who asked how the defendant could have killed his wife.

Justice Lateefat Okunnu adjourned the matter till 4 December, 2012 for continuation of trial.
